Laos 2024

I first travelled to Laos in 1998, soon after it had opened up to travellers, and completely fell in love with the country, the people, the food and the relaxed and languid atmosphere. Although Laos has changed, much of what made it so special all those years ago still makes it special now.

This trip included the Wat Phu Champasak festival, noted for hundreds of Buddhist monks embarking on their morning alms round through the ancient ruins.
