Myanmar 2016

A welcome return to the fascinating country of Myanmar. We covered the main highlights of the country, but also took in the pilgrimage site on Monywa with its giant Buddha images, and also the remote Chin Hills, to photograph some of the tattoed tribes that live there.

A noisy highlight was the Taunggyi Hot Air Balloon Festival which dates back to 1894, and sees large balloons being sent up to the skies - loaded with fireworks. If it works then the skies are lit up with fireworks, but they sometimes crash into the crowds causing mayhem.
